In early 2010 ABCtech brought together 11 moderators,60 panelists, and 350 attendees in Edmonton and Calgary to discuss CleanTech issues.  Over 40 resolutions were put forward at these two events.  In September at a symposium in Red Deer 180 people gathered and further refined the resolutions to 28.  At this event a board made up of industry leaders was established to launch ACTIA and to assist in advancing initiatives based on the resolutions. Key projects have been started, a formal mission statement and goals have been developed, branding has been finalized, and a website has been launched and its subscriber base has grown and is now over 750 strong.

After leading ACTIA through it’s formative stages and working closely with it on the above activities, ABCtech has recently assisted in the process of transitioning the organization into a Society with new Officers Russel Matichuk, Chairman and President, Paul Cabaj, Vice President, and Dan Cloutier, Secretary–Treasurer (other Board members are listed on the website at www.actia.ca). Although the two organizations are now independent, ACTIA and ABCtech will continue to work together on advocacy matters and projects starting with the CCEMC's GHG Reduction Summit mentioned below, the CleanTech & Electrifying Transportation 2011 Conference in Calgary on June 3, 4, and an expanded CleanTech & ET2011 Conference in the Edmonton area on October 14, 15 (site selection currently being finalized).
